Almost all books on golf instruction have one thing in common, they all attempt to teach students of the game to play golf using the golf swing technique which has been used since Tom Morris and Harry Varden were the top golfers of their time.
This swing technique is over 100 years old.
There has been slight variations to the traditional golf swing due to improvements of equipment.
The basic swing patterns however have changed very little.
Many players go through their golfing lives scoring in the eighties ,nineties and some never ever break a hundred.
I maintain that by adopting a simple playing technique thousands of golfers no matter how long they have played with their present handicap could take up to ten strokes off their average score.
What is this method that can make such a potential difference to their established handicap and reduce their scores?
It is in fact so simple you probably will not believe it works, until you try it for yourself.
The golfing fraternity, are already aware of this method of striking balls and use it to improve pupils striking. When the student starts striking the ball better, astonishingly they instruct them to return to the conventional method.
A classic example of not seeing the wood for the trees.
Here is the simple technique you use with every club from driver to putter. Stand with both feet in such a position that the heels are no more than four inches apart. Both feet point straight forward and are parallel with each other.
The ball is played in a position level with the middle of the front left toes.
Sounds to simple doesn’t it?
I guarantee if you practice using this way of setting up on every ball strike you make, you will be surprised at the improvement in your game.
Why does it work?
1. More body flexion.
2. Better control of weight distribution
3, Less chance of a miss hit.
